1. Controller

the operator of Railza.ch is responsible for processing personal data on this website. Contact: hello@railza.ch.

2. What Railza needs — and what it does not

Railza does not need your name, passport or ID number, or date of birth. It asks only for what changes an answer: the journey, your pass or ticket type, class and validity dates, and — only when a pass depends on it — an age and whether you live in Switzerland or abroad.

3. Journey checks without an account

For a check, Railza sends the stations, date and time to its timetable provider (opentransportdata.swiss or transport.opendata.ch). The check and the details you entered are stored so the answer can be explained and reproduced, and are deleted automatically after 24 hours. Your browser keeps the checker state for the current session (session storage).

4. Account and Railza Trip

With an account Railza stores your email address, sign-in sessions, the trips, journeys, travelers (a label you choose, optional age and residence category) and passes or tickets you save, and your Railza Trip orders. Orders are kept as accounting records as required by law; everything else can be exported and deleted in your account at any time.

5. Uploaded tickets and passes

If you import a document, it is processed on Railza’s servers only to read the pass or ticket details you then confirm. The original file is deleted right after you confirm the details, or within 24 hours if the import is abandoned, unless you choose to keep it for up to 30 days. Files are stored privately and are only available to you through short-lived signed links.

6. Wallet companion passes and sharing

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet companion passes contain the journey summary and, only if you enter it, a name of up to 60 characters. Share links contain the route and coverage summary only. Passes and share links expire after the journey.

7. Feedback and usage counts

Feedback you send about a result is stored with the route, pass type and answer it refers to, not with your identity. Railza counts anonymous usage events (for example “check completed” with the route and pass type) without cookies or identifiers. More detailed usage analytics run only if you allow them in the cookie settings.

8. Service providers

Hosting: Vercel (functions in Frankfurt, Germany). Database: Neon (EU). Email: Infomaniak (Switzerland). Payments: Stripe. Timetables: opentransportdata.swiss / transport.opendata.ch. Wallet passes: Apple and Google when you add a pass. These providers process data on Railza’s behalf or as needed to deliver the service you request.

9. Your rights

You can access, export, correct and delete your data (Account → Export / Delete account) and contact Railza about any other request under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and, where applicable, the GDPR. You can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (in Switzerland: the FDPIC).
